Just who is the monopoly?
Dear Velo,
The UCI has filed a complaint that the grand tours are conspiring tosabotagethe ProTour. What the hell is the UCI trying to do to the grand tours? Talk aboutacting as an illegal monopoly. The three major tours don't need the UCIand need to formally tell the UCI to go *@%& themselves and continuewith their traditions. The teams will still come and compete and riders will still dream ofracing them and spectators will still show up to cheer them on.

Dear Velo,
Regarding WADA chief Dick Pound's recent rather crass comments in theNew York Times Magazine regarding Floyd Landis while there is an on-going appealsprocess in Landis' case, the more I read about the things Mr Pound says, the more I am reminded of the old saying, "Better to remain silent andbe thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."I can't imagine even the police chief of the small town I live in beingfoolish enough to utter similar nonsense about some meaningless local courtcase that was being appealed, never mind someone who is the head of a world-wideorganization succumbing to such a blatant and long term case of foot inmouth disease as Mr. Pound appears to be suffering.

Back up note: Give him a fake name for your dog; he doesn'treally care, he just wants to be able to keep track of who owes him money.Nicholas Stevens, Esq.

Hello,
I just wanted to thank you for the Velonews.com/mobileoption. I’ve been using the RSS feeds and, while they get the jobdone, they are cumbersome at best. The /Mobile pages are much faster and I appreciate the speed of themobile browser formatting. The day job corporate policy makers haveVeloNews.com blocked (probably due to my constant usage during the Tourand Vuelta this past year) and my only option is via mobile during workingours – so I sincerely appreciate your mobile efforts.
