Last we heard, Will Ross was heading to Germany. Well? What's happening? Hello? Let him ride his little Colorado ride and then strap him to a chair and give us a new book!

An alternative to Ride the Rockies
Editor:
Please pass on to Paul Smith (See Friday's Mailbag: “More on Ride the Rockies, please) that Ride the Rockies is certainly doable, but not this year, as registration is closed.
However, the Bicycle Tour of Colorado, also a week-long ride through the Rockies, is still open. Having ridden the BTC several times, I can say it's well worth it, and the best way to experience our beautiful state. Plus, having that to look forward to makes for great motivation to get out and ride!

What’s with all the Gerolsteiner crashes?
Editor:
Five members of the Gerolsteiner team crashed in Milano-San Remo; two were seriously injured. This seems a high percentage of crashers for one team since there wasn't one big crash that took them all down at the same time. The solo crash on the descent was particularly nasty, leaving the poor rider with a broken leg.
Makes me wonder if there was something peculiar about Gerolsteiner's choice of equipment at this event. The Italian technical experts (we get RAI International) always comment on tires with too much pressure and the poor braking control of carbon wheels, but was there something more to the frequency of crashes decimating this team?

Vegans exhausting
Editor:
I’ve no doubt that certain cyclists can excel while adhering to a strict vegan diet. I am concerned however, that a “cloud of smug” will be a regularly occurring byproduct of Team Vegan.
