Big Shark lands co-title sponsor

Big Shark Racing of St. Louis, MO, is pleased to announce a 2-year co-title
sponsorship with Michelob Ultra, an Anheuser-Busch brand. This sponsorship
deal runs through the end of the 2009 season, during which the team will be
called "Michelob Ultra - Big Shark Racing".

The increased budget will allow the team to better support their Elite
Development team in larger national-caliber events, as well as the National
Championships. Mike Weiss, owner of Big Shark Bicycles, and Cat1 racer,
explains that "running the bike shop causes me to focus daily on the
mutually rewarding relationship which comes from the loyalty between the
customer and the local independent bike shop." While there are many
regional teams who are quite successful recruiting promising area racers
for their team, Big Shark prefers to focus on its existing team members. "I
like to carry the same 'customer loyalty' concept through with the cycling
team, " says Weiss. "We identify our racers who have the ambition to follow
their cycling to its highest potential, and help support them to that end
financially as well as by connecting them to our veteran racers for
training advice or full-blown coaching programs."

Thus far in 2008, Michelob Ultra - Big Shark Racing has participated in the
Tour of the Gila (Jeff Hartman finished 2nd on GC in the Masters category),
the Joe Martin Stage Race, and Tulsa Tough. Last month at the Missouri
State Championship Road Race, Kyle Rackers won the Cat3 title, Amy Strahan
won the Women Masters 40+ title, and Cheryl Rathert won the Women Cat4
title; Big Shark Racing Alum, Zack Stein, (Nova/ISCorp) won the Pro/1/2
title...at age 17!
