What goes around...
Dear Gerard,
You raised my eyebrows when you seemed surprised by not receiving ananswer to why you were fired. The occasion should have reminded you ofmy dismissal a year ago when the exact same thing
happened to me. When you, and your immediate office, refused to declarea reason to the state unemployment agency, my family had to wait a monthto receive unemployment benefits.

Dear Velo,
Like Tobias Stanton, I too will greatly miss Gerard Bisceglia. I runa junior team, though racing mainly regionally. My experiences with Gerardwere at a personal level - while following the Men 15-16 road race at 2003Junior Nationals, he stopped and drove one of my riders involved in a crashback to the start area. Just last year, one of my 13-14 girls was missedin results, and Gerard quickly had the officials review the video tape- which clearly showed the rider finishing.I have had several short conversations with Mr. Bisceglia over the pastthree years at races. He was always willing to engage and above all,he listened! He will be missed by many. Mr. Johnson would be well advisedto continue with Gerard's personable and caring style of running USA Cycling.

Editors,
Having just watched television coverage of this year's Paris Roubaix,it was clear that not only did the second- through fourth-place ridersrun the train barriers before the train arrived but so did Boonen's group. They blatantly rode around the barriers just as soon as the train was passed. The footage didn't show the "red lights" but, at least by U.S. law, with the barriers down it was still illegal to pass. If you are going toenforce that rule, shouldn't it work the same for both groups?

Editors,
Maybe I don't know the whole inside story but when George Hincapie'sspecially built Trek broke, his two supporting domestiques just lookedover at him and continued with the attack. Last week Hoste attacked a superstrong Hincapie at Flanders. So I guess it shouldn't surprise us that Hincapie'steammates seemed to not even flinch when he went down. So is Hincapie Discovery'steam leader? Since know one can answer this - maybe that is why a teamwho can put more than one rider in the winning moves in the Spring classicscan't seem to win. Can you imagine if Armstrong went down with a mechanicalin the Tour and his team just left him?I am a big fan of George Hincapie and Discovery but, frankly, I washappy to see that Hoste and Gusev were disqualified. That's Karma.
