Albert, Compton win round 3 of CX World Cup

Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) and Katie Compton (Planet Bike) defended their leads in the UCI Cyclocross World Cup on Sunday, winning the third round of the series in Nommay, France.
Men
1. Niels Albert (BEL), Bkcp-Powerplus, 240 points
2. Zdenek Stybar (CZE), Telenet-Fidea Cycling Team, 205 points
3. Francis Mourey (FRA), Française Des Jeux, 165 points
Women
1. Katherine Compton (USA), 120 points
2. Daphny Van Den Brand (NED), 90 points
3. Sanne Van Paassen (NED), 85 points
World champion Albert outsprinted Czech Zdenek Stybar (Telenet-Fidea) for the victory, with Belgian Sven Nys (Landbouwkrediet-Colnago) third at nine seconds back.
American Jonathan Page (Planet Bike) was 40th at 3:55.
Page’s teammate and compatriot Compton fared better, winning the women’s race by 35 seconds over Holland’s Marianne Vos (DSB Bank-Nederland Bloeit). Vos' countrywoman Sanne Van Paassen finished third at 1:27.
Round four of the World Cup will be November 28 in Koksijde, Belgium.
