Biography

While traveling to the United States with the Cuban national team for the 1998 Goodwill Games, Dominguez chose to defect. Not knowing English and with no one in the United States but an uncle in Miami, he made ends meet by working at a shoe factory. Gradually, he learned English and started to make associations in the cycling world, competing and winning races in Miami. His efforts paid off when, in 2000, he was offered a spot on Saturn.
