Tour de Hood - May 17th - 18th, 2008


What: The Tour de Hood....Two Days, 132 Miles, 14,000 Vertical Feet, Spectacular Scenery, Mind-numbing Climbing Pain...
When: May 17 -18, 2008: May 17, Saturday: 89 miles, 9,200 feet. May 18, Sunday: 42 miles, 4,800 feet.
Where: Hood River, Oregon......and the surrounding Mt Hood National Forest and Columbia River Scenic Highway.
Why: Benefiting the LiveStrong Foundation and the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic organization. Entry: $99 through April 17; $109 April 18-May 10; $119 -$129 After May 10.

Tour de Hood riders will ride two of the same courses as the racers, leaving Saturday the 17th with a three hour head start before the pro racers take to the road. Riders can try to outrun the racers or find a prime viewing spot to see the racers fly up the final climb. Sunday's ride will start and finish at the location of the downtown criterium races, and riders will cover the time trial course along the Columbia River Scenic Highway that the riders completed just a few days before.
